An ancient Hebrew text says," Love is as strong as death." It seems that not everyone experiences this kind of strong love. The increase in poverty, crime and war tells us that the world is in desperate need of true love. But what is true love? Love is something we all need but how do we know when we’ve experienced it? True love is best seen as devotion and action, not an emotion. Love is not exclusively based on how we feel. Certainly our emotions are involved, but they cannot be our only criteria for love.

古希伯來語中有這么一句話：“愛如死般堅強(qiáng)。”顯然不是每個人都能體驗到如此濃烈的深愛，在我們的生存之地，貧窮在擴(kuò)散，罪惡在曼延，戰(zhàn)爭在涂炭生靈。這一切都表明，世界迫切需要真愛。但到底什么才是真愛呢? 人們渴求愛，但我們怎樣才可以確信我們體驗到了它的存在呢?真愛應(yīng)該是一種奉獻(xiàn)精神，是一種勝過言語的奉獻(xiàn)行為，而不是僅僅建筑在我們感覺上的一種激情。愛當(dāng)然離不開激情，但那絕不是我們衡量愛的唯一標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。

True love is when you care enough about another person that you would lay down your life for them. When this happens, then love true is "as strong as death". How many of you have a mother or father, husband or wife,son or daughter or friend who would sacrifice his or her own life for yours? Those of you who true love your spouse and children would unselfishly lay your life on the line to save them from death. Many people, in emergency rooms with their loved ones have prayed, "please God, take me instead of them." Find true love, and be a true lover as well. May you find the love which is not only stronger than death but which leads to a truly fulfilling life.

真愛到來時，你可以為心愛的人舍棄生命，為之而死。愛到如此壯烈才稱得上是“愛如死般堅強(qiáng)”啊!我們當(dāng)中有多少人的父母，丈夫或妻子，兒子或女兒，朋友愿意為愛人犧牲自己的生命?只有深切關(guān)愛家人和孩子的人們，才會毫不猶豫地舍棄自己的生命，以挽救在死亡線上掙扎的親人。我們當(dāng)中又有多少人在愛人垂死的病榻前同心祈禱：“上帝啊，用我的生命換回他們吧!” 尋求真愛，同時也成為真心的愛人吧!祝你的真愛不僅“愛如死般堅強(qiáng)”，而且更能為你指引一條充滿真愛的人生之路。
