拼綴法(blending)是把兩個詞同時進(jìn)行裁剪，或截頭或去尾，或只裁剪兩個詞中的一個，保留另外一個。然后把兩部分拼合在一起，構(gòu)成一個新詞。Blending is a process of word formaiton by combining parts of two words or a word plus a part of another word. 具體做法包括分為：詞首+詞尾，詞首+詞首，詞首+單詞，單詞+詞尾。拼綴法構(gòu)詞一般首先出現(xiàn)于報刊文章、科技文章利。用這種構(gòu)詞法創(chuàng)造的新詞言簡意豐，生動別致，符合現(xiàn)代人快節(jié)奏的甚或。必須承認(rèn)，拼綴法(blending)是當(dāng)代英語新詞匯發(fā)展豐富的重要的構(gòu)詞方式之一。
