A: Why don’t you sit down and relax, darling?

B: I don’t want to.
B:我不想。
A: Well, come over and talk to me then.
A:嗯,那過(guò)來(lái)跟我聊聊。
B: Certainly not.
B:不想。
A: May I turn on the TV then?
A:我打開(kāi)電視行嗎?
B: Turn on the TV for what?
B:打開(kāi)電視干什么?
A: So that we can sit down together and listen to some music.
A:我們可以坐下來(lái)聽(tīng)聽(tīng)音樂(lè)。
B: Listen to the music? And who will cook dinner, will you?
B:聽(tīng)音樂(lè)?誰(shuí)做飯,你嗎?
A: I will, but let’s go to the disco after dinner.
A:好,我做。晚飯后去跳迪斯科吧?
B: To a disco? Oh, no. You know I hate it.
B:跳迪斯科?不去,你知道我討厭迪斯科。

“For what?”是口語(yǔ)中一個(gè)很常見(jiàn)的問(wèn)句,意思和“Why?”一樣,但比“Why?”更口語(yǔ)化,有時(shí)候也會(huì)用“What for?”。
